Course Schedule:

Wed Jun 7 - The course will start with a half day of equipment workshops where your Sidemount equipment will be personally fitted for you. We'll land drill the basic skills before we head over to our training pool for two hours in the water.  The last hour is spent back at the dive centre reviewing the video and answering questions.

Thu Jun 8 - will be at Goat Island Marine Reserve where we will land drill more foundational skills before hitting the water for weighting and buoyancy checks, and more skills practice. The day finishes with video debriefing and preparation for Days 3 and 4.

Sat Jun 10 - We will head up to Northland Dive with the Global Dive team for a weekend to perform our Open Water dives on sites at the world-famous Canterbury Wreck and the Bay of Islands Reefs. Here you will learn how to correctly manage your sidemount equipment for boat diving including boarding the vessel, storing your equipment, preparing for donning and various techniques for donning on the boat and in-water. During the dives you will practice gas management, sidemount skills, propulsion techniques and emergency drills. The day finishes with video debriefing and preparation for Day 4.

Sun Jun 11 - Day 4 marks our second day diving In the Bay of Islands where we will continue to practice our sidemount diving skills and perform a skills circuit to complete the course. Again, we'll finish the day with video debriefing and discussion.
